1. Use basic strategy
It is highly recommended that you always use blackjack basic strategy. If you are not familiar with basic strategy, read our strategy article or use the strategy trainer to improve your skills. Basic strategy is the first tool you should master.
2. Don't take insurance, unless you count cards
It is recommended that you never take insurance at the blackjack table unless you are an experienced card counter. Taking insurance just benefits the casino and new players will often take insurance every time it is offered to them. You are losing extra money in the long run by taking insurance so stay clear of it unless you're counting cards.
3. Manage your money
It is important to manage your blackjack money wisely. Don't sit down at a blackjack table where the minimum bet is 5% or more of your total playing money. You simply won't have enough money to play in this game so find a game with lower limits. Always make sure to stay within your limits.
